Launch of SLiCE Year Two

On the 24 and 25 September, at the Women’s Organisation in Liverpool, the SLiCE cohorts plus cultural partners were inducted into the programme. Over the academic year we will be working with twenty SLiCEs and thirty cultural partners. This builds on the success of the programme during the last academic year. This year Andrew Vaughan is working to support cultural partners in the programme and Jude Bird Head of Schools’ Partnerships leads the overall programme.

We have received the external evaluation from Liverpool John Moores University which will shortly be be published don our website. In January we plan to commence the delivery of the Post Graduate Certificate in Cultural Education that we have written with Edge Hill University.

On October 15 Derri Burdon, CEO and Jude will be running a seminar about the SLiCE programme at the School Led – North West Teaching School Conference at Old Trafford, Manchester. On October 24  Jude will be co-delivering a conference paper on the SLiCE programme with the external researchers Dr’s Hiett and Smears at the National Society for Art and Design Education (NSEAD) and international Journal of Art and Design Education (iJADE) conference at TATE Liverpool.

National interest in the programme continues to grow and the programme is developing in a range of interesting ways to promote SLiCEs as cultural commissioners and producers.
