Curious Minds delivered its first Artsmark Training day on behalf of Trinity College London on Thursday 27 June, at the Cornerhouse & The Library Theatre Company, Manchester. Six teachers from NW schools, including Secondary, Primary and Special, enjoyed the ‘good opportunity to network and meet new contacts’ and take part in interactive discussions about the great art and culture they are offering to pupils and how to capture evidence of this for Artsmark.

I feel far more confident in completing the application

Teachers said that the course has improved my confidence in Artsmark’ and ‘given me strategies to include colleagues in the process.’ They commented on how they ‘feel far more confident in completing the application’. They were also inspired by Curious Minds new Culture Hub.

Marisa Draper, Producer of the Young People’s Programme at the Cornerhouse, gave an overview of the organisation’s art and cultural offer to schools. Please go to http://www.cornerhouse.org/livewire to find out more and thanks to Marisa for participating.

Thanks also to trainers Ann Brian and Jude Bird for their hard work and preparation in planning and delivering the day.

Please see http://www.artsmark.org.uk/get-involved/book-your-training for details of forthcoming Artsmark face to face training days from October 2013. Schools and settings need to join the Artsmark network before they can book.
