Curious Minds Recruit NPO Bridge Champions

As the Bridge organisation for the North West we are tasked with strengthening the connection between schools and NPOs (national portfolio organisations), driving the uptake of Arts Award and helping to strengthen the cultural education offer for children and young people across the North West.

We wanted to strengthen that cultural education offer through specific art forms, utilising the experience and quality offered by the regions NPO’s.

For this reason, we recently recruited a number of  NPO’s as Bridge Champions – working in partnership from  January 2015 with champions from Bolton Octagon, The Lowry, Ludus Dance, Action Transport Theatre and Live at Lica.

What?

Bridge Champions are middle-senior leaders in their art forms.   They will:

•             Champion their art form to schools across the North West

•             Represent and support colleagues from other NPOs in their art form

•             Coordinate a joined up regional schools offer across their art form

Who?

Our first champions are:

Theatre – Imogen Woolrich, Bolton Octagon

Dance – Anthony Briggs, Ludus Dance and Jonathan Poole, The Lowry

Creative Writing – Christina Lydon, Action Transport Theatre

Visual Art – Fiona Sinclair, Live at LICA

Our Champions will be giving us updates on their work over the next year. Look out for ‘Curious Champion’ news in future editions of our e-bulletins and on our website.

Bridge Champions will come into post from January 2015.

Curious Minds will also shortly recruit champions in music and digital art form as well.
