Experiential dance company, in collaboration with newly redeveloped Civic Arts Centre, are offering your students the opportunity to see current work Bridging the Void and share in associated workshops. They are touring to the Civic Arts Centre on 7th May 2015 as part of an Arts Council England funded National Tour.
‘Bridging the Void is an interactive journey from darkness, through sunrise to dawn light. Dance, film and music interweave to create a mesmerising experience of sunrise, which audiences are invited to encounter and personalise for themselves.’
Themes and workshops:
The dance production and associated workshops both inspire creativity and provides an experience of the way in which current artists combine multiple art forms to create a production. The overall outcomes of the workshop are:
- Engage in physical activity
- Work with fellow students and our multi-artistic team to create their own, smaller version, of Bridging the Void. This could then be shown at a School assembly or production.
- Insight into the many routes and opportunities available to establish themselves in the performance industry.
The performance begins at 1.30pm for 45 minutes. With a 15-minute break before sharing in a 1 hour physical workshop. Due to the support of Arts Council England and Civic Arts Centre both can be offered at a reduced rate.
