March 3, 2014The Big Dance Pledge is a chance to learn, make and perform dance with the rest of the world. This special 5th edition is created by Scottish Ballet with fun and celebration at its heart, as part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme of the XX Commonwealth Games.
Available from 14 January 2014, the free online films show you the dance and how to learn it, or give you the starting point to make your own version. Get a group of friends, classmates or work colleagues together to have great fun and put your dancing on the map! On 16 May 2014 at 1pm and 7pm local time to wherever you are, there will be successive and simultaneous dance performances in a wave across the world.
MDI will be organising a mass performance of the Pledge Dance on 16th May at the Anglican Cathedral, as part of Light Night Liverpool. If you would like to be part of this performance please contact jennie@MDI.org.uk
If you want to perform your Pledge dance earlier or later than 16 May 2014, you can! Use the resources in the best way for you. You could use the Pledge to make warm-ups, new choreographies, to make a dance to perform every week or as part of other events you have planned.
There are no rules or restrictions, just have fun.
