”We want to push the boundaries of theatre and the arts”

Masquerade is a Blaze project based in the Harris Museum & Art Gallery in Preston. For this years annual Blaze Festival we are creating a interactive murder mystery.

In early September – The 5th – 7th – we’ll be taking over the Harris Library, Museum & Art Gallery to create the main venue behind this years Blaze Festival. The festival is going to be made up of five strands which include; Film, Theatre, Writing, Creative Careers and Music.

Why do we need actors? Well, Masquerade will involve working with professional theatre makers with room for actors to add their own input, in order to create an interactive performance. We are interesed in telling a story and taking the audience on a journey. The plot and characters are already being created, however artistic input is very much welcome. Also, there will be no completed script, so we’ll use rehearsal time as a way to devise lines, working with a writer. Actors will be asked to stay in character and ad-lib answers to any questions the audience may ask.

Ideally actors would be:

  • Aged 16-25 years
  • Interested in performance and theatre.
  • Dedicated to creating the best event possible
  • Committed and avalible for performance – 5th and 7th September.

It’ll be a great opportunity to get involved in creating Masquerade’s first ever event! We’ll also be offereing a few Art Awards (Bronze and Silver) for anybody interested.

Of course any travel cost encurred within Lancashire for Blaze or Masquerade will be covered!

It’ll be great to hear from you! For more information please don’t hesistate to get in touch.
