Directed by Julia Samuels.

With live music, poetry and beat-boxing, 20 Stories High presents young people telling real tales from their MP3 players. With unflinching honesty, they discuss religion, sex, race friendship and family revealing challenging and insightful perspectives.

Mikey’s Mum and Dad still haven’t forgiven him for what he did when he was six…

Jamie is keeping her pregnancy under wraps…

and David is having an affair with his teacher.

With 11 different monologues over 4 nights… HEADZ offers a gritty, challenging and humorous insight into the lives of young people in Liverpool 2014.

20 Stories High Youth Theatre present… Standard

Directed and Devised by Rachel Brogan with Bradley Thompson

Deep in the heart of the forest, thirty young pioneers courageously set out to live by their ideals.

They have 7 days to create a new society and need to choose 10 moral codes to live by.

But what begins merely as a college exercise ultimately takes them to their emotional limits and changes their lives… forever.

20 Stories High Youth Theatre work with award-winning guest director Rachel Brogan (currently Director of the Television Workshop, Salford ‘Working Girls Theatre Co’) and Bradley Thompson, an emerging young director and actor who has been part of 20 Stories High Youth Theatre for the past seven years.

Free Verbatim Theatre Workshops

These workshops will explore Recorded Delivery – the artistic technique used in the show – focusing on using MP3 players to create verbatim performance. Free and open to all, but places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!

Wednesday 4 June for 13-21 Year Olds

Tales from the MP3 Post Show Jam

Saturday 2nd August, 9.15pm at the Everyman

Slam Poetry, Live Music, Open Mic, Dance, Club Tunes…

Join the cast of the show and some very special guests at our legendary Post Show Jam. Young Artists are welcome to perform as individuals or groups. This is our big MP3 party before setting off on tour – a night not too be missed!

 

Live Music & Spoken Word pre-show Performances

Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd August, 6.45pm at the Everyman

20 Stories High are looking to programme a selection of local musicians and Spoken Word artists to perform before Tales from the MP3 kicks off at the Everyman. Performances will take place in the Everyman bar areas.
