We were devastated to learn this week of the sudden and unexpected death of Eleanor Chapman.

A hugely accomplished cultural leader and producer, Elli was also a passionate advocate for children and young people's right to high quality creative and cultural learning.

One of several things Elli worked on was our Hope Streets project. Elli facilitated teams of Young Producers to put on their own festival events, using her numerous industry contacts and professional knowledge to add a touch of magic. During the pandemic, her considerable experience in online creative working was key to us continuing the Festival of Hope. It enabled this project to become a lynchpin for many young people at a turbulent time.

We were honoured in 2022 to welcome her as a Curious Minds Trustee, and have benefitted immeasurably from the energy and vision she brought to the strategic leadership of our charity. Ours wasn’t her only Trustee role and we know her loss will be felt keenly in all corners of the creative and cultural landscape.
