Calling all creative minds!

Artsmark in Rural Schools: Whitehaven and Copeland Research Project

Are you an artist or creative organisation with a passion for education and making a difference in communities? We have an opportunity for you to bring your creativity to schools in Cumbria.

Why Join Us?

Schools in rural communities face unique challenges in accessing diverse arts and cultural experiences. Curious Minds and Arts Council England want to address these issues and explore innovative new ways of supporting schools to offer outstanding creative opportunities throughout the curriculum.

About the Project

Funded by the Arts Council England (ACE), Curious Minds is delivering a groundbreaking pilot project which will use the Artsmark Framework* as a tool to plan and test bespoke arts-based activity for pupils.  This initiative aims to provide flexible, tailored creative opportunities that meet the specific needs of individual schools.

Artsmark* is the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings in England and is accredited by ACE. Its flexible framework supports settings to embed and celebrate arts, culture and creativity for all children and young people.

What we need

We're seeking a diverse group of talented artists, creative educators, and organisations with a passion for working in schools.

By joining our pool of creatives, you'll have the chance to:

  • Provide high-quality and engaging arts experiences in rural schools.
  • Contribute to a groundbreaking project that addresses educational inequalities through creativity

  • Artists and organisations with a proven track record of working with schools.
  • Passionate individuals committed to fostering arts and culture in education.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to tailor your creative activities to the needs of each school.
