The Young Associates programme began in March 2016, with the aim to up-skill and develop a group of emerging arts professionals.
We are looking for 18 to 25 years olds from creative backgrounds, who are ready to take on a new challenge and become the next generation of leaders and changemakers in cultural education. Please apply if you want to work with young people and are based in the North West or from the Yorkshire & Humber area. We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you are from these areas: Wigan, Liverpool, Lancashire, Yorkshire.As part of our commitment to diversity, we are focusing our energy on making sure our opportunities and offers reach far and wide. We are particularly keen to welcome applicants for this opportunity from people who are currently under-represented in the arts and culture sector. Please note that the Young Associates programme is a training and development opportunity, not a permanent job with Curious Minds.
This year’s programme will take place from January to March 2024. Successful applicants will take part in high-quality training led by experienced industry professionals. Focussing on key areas such as project management, facilitation skills, access and inclusion, youth voice, to develop the skills and knowledge needed to work creatively with children and young people.
The training will be a combination of:
- 4 In-person training days on a Saturday 9:30am - 5:00pm. These will take place at different cultural venues across Wigan and Yorkshire.
- Weekly online sessions on Thursdays 4:30pm – 6:30pm.

The deadline for applications is 9.00am on Monday 8th of January 2024.

We will invite shortlisted applicants to an informal interview, which will be online and will take place on Thursday 11th January, between 4.00pm and 7.00pm. If you already know that you are not available during this period, please state this within your application and we will do our best to make alternative arrangements. Otherwise, we will expect you to be available, barring illness or emergencies.
