The Chubby Northerner, is a celebrated poet and spoken word artist known for his powerful storytelling and engaging performances. He opened the 2021 UEFA Champions League Final on BT Sport with his poem “The Final Step,” which was also featured again at the 2023 Champions League Final broadcast. Tom is the most featured artist on BBC Radio Manchester’s BBC Upload and was winnrer of SAY OWT Poetry Slam in York 2025 and runner-up at the A Lovely Word poetry slam Grand Final 2024 held at the Liverpool Everyman Theatre.
He has performed for Prince Edward at a Royal Gala dinner and was the face of B&M Bargains’ Christmas social media campaign through his captivating poetry. His spoken word show won The Royal Exchange Theatre’s Local Tale competition, further cementing his reputation as a leading voice in contemporary poetry.
Tom is also the author of Lovely Chubbly, a poetry collection featured in Waterstones. In 2022, he supported renowned spoken word artist JB Barrington on the Showing Potential tour, sharing stages and audiences across the UK. Bringing authenticity, humor, and heart to every project.
