Child Protection Policy Writing:  Review and Update Workshop Friday 27th March 2015, Z-Arts, Manchester M15 5ZA

The Course:

A jam-packed half-day session! Our experienced youth arts practitioner and trainer Helen Cadbury will be on hand to help inform you on current child protection legislation and provide techniques that will leave you confident in writing or updating your child protection policy. Bring along your current policy to work on in the session or pick up useful tips to walk away with.

Ideal if:

You want help updating your current child protection policy or advice on writing one from scratch.

  • Reviewing current policies

  • Policy and procedures specific to your setting
  • Action plan: setting yourself clear goals

Behaviour Management and Youth Arts

The Course:

Understanding challenging behaviour and the best ways to cope with it is essential to any youth arts project. This one-day course looks at how you can create a positive environment from the offset, and get the most out of your young people! As a group, we will provide support for each other and address any issues within your own projects that you would like to discuss.

Ideal if:

You work directly with children and young people in the arts and creative sectors.

Themes:

  • Understanding behavioural issues, their causes and their preventions
  • Developing strategies for transforming challenging behaviour
  • Flexible and responsive approaches to use in your own work
  • Troubleshooting 101 – discuss personal concerns or previous experiences and learn how to manage these more effectively in the future

The Cost:

Prices for each participant range from £117-£130 and the day includes lunch, refreshments and a certificate of attendance for each delegate. English National Youth Arts Network members receive 10% discount on spaces. Membership is FREE – sign up here

Evaluating Youth Arts Projects

We know evaluating youth arts projects can seem daunting at first, so this course is designed to support you as you make those first steps. Developed to help you cultivate meaningful and beneficial modes of evaluating youth arts projects – and prepare you for your own evaluative process through creative examples and useful case studies.

Ideal if:

You want a practical day and the chance to tailor your approach to creative evaluation. This course will give you the confidence you need to engage fully with evaluating youth arts.

Themes:

  • Constructive exercise or chore? Lifting the lid on evaluation myths
  • Developing meaningful modes of evaluation
  • Case studies – different approaches to youth arts evaluation
  • Shaping your individual approach – how to engage with youth arts projects
