Curious Minds is Recruiting…

Are you …

  • Aged 16 – 25 years old?
  • A leader within a local arts organisation?
  • Ready for more challenge?
  • Interested in getting a better understanding of Cultural Education across the North West?

Curious Minds is looking for current Young Leaders from Arts and Culture organisations that are ready to take on a new challenge alongside their existing role.

As a Young Associate you will have the opportunity to work across the North West. Together we will explore the bigger picture for the arts and cultural education in your local area.  This is a new programme of work for us, so there will be lots of opportunities to have a say in how it develops and help us build an effective youth leadership network.

How will it work?

Once you’ve been successful in applying to be a Young Associate there will be an eight month induction period during which you’ll get to know more about Curious Minds and the work that we do.  You will develop training in presentation skills and marketing and become expert in the Cultural Education and the arts and cultural offer for children and young people across the region.

We’ll meet once a month for a couple of hours at the Curious Minds office at the Guild Hall in Preston.   Travel expenses will be paid for attending these meetings and refreshments will be provided.

Once you have successfully completed the induction period you will have the opportunity to undertake paid work across the region.  This could involve becoming an Arts Award Advocate, reporting on events taking place across the North West or helping to develop our strategic offer for children and young people in the North West.  You could be working on your own or as part of a small team.  You’ll come back together as a group at regular intervals to share experience, receive further training and continue to grow your own networks.

What’s in it for you?

  • The chance to be part of a new and exciting team here at Curious Minds
  • The opportunity to undertake paid work and add further work experience to your CV
  • Skills development and training. This will include having a personal development plan and professional mentoring
  • The opportunity to do a Gold Arts Award
  • The chance to meet new people that share your interests and establish your own networks
  • The option to attend cultural events across the North West
