Creative Learning and the New OFSTED Framework

With the new OFSTED framework being implemented this year, we believe that creative and cultural learning continues to be significant as policy moves forward.  In this publication, commissioned by Curious Minds, Robert Meadows sets out how and why creativity is still very much at the heart of achievement and how the new OFSTED framework lends itself to creative teaching approaches.

At Curious Minds, we think this is exciting because it means that all young people will be able to continue benefiting from creative teaching and learning long term.

In this thinkpiece, Robert Meadows sets out why this is the case, exploring the outcome of the pilot inspections and taking at its thesis the massive impact that the Creative Partnerships had on teaching skills and OFSTED’s views on it.

While Ofsted are making changes to the school inspection system so schools can show a continued progression from ‘satisfactory schools’ to ‘outstanding schools’, we here at Curious Minds believe creative learning within education, at all levels, is one of the most dynamic tools to make this happen.” – Derri Burdon, Chief Executive Curious Minds.
